Bagalkot (Karnataka): Heavy rain in the Western Ghats and neighbouring areas of the River Krishna has affected normal life of people living in Jamkhandi, near Bagalkot, Karnataka.
Rescue teams began to evacuate people living in the flood-hit surroundings of River Krishna near Bagalkot. The flooding of the river has forced the Bagalkot and Vijayapura administrations to declare a high alert in those areas located next to the river banks.
However, no major damage reported from Vijayapura, except for a few agricultural fields being submerged.
Villages of Jamkhandi taluk and Surpali, Tubachi, Muttur, Kankavadi and Nandagav villages of Mudhol taluk are affected.
