Bhatkal: Venkataramana Naik, a native of Bhatkal in Karnataka, was bitten by a python on Friday (June 21). Naik not only caught the snake, despite being bitten, but also admitted himself to a nearby hospital.
Seasonal rains in the region forced the snake out of its habitat. It was spotted by the natives of the town.
Fearing harm, Naik tried to catch it, but was bitten by the python. However, he took it to the hospital before being admitted.
Upon hearing the incident, forest officials rushed to the hospital, where Naik is undergoing treatment, and took the snake. They then set it free in the forest.
