Air India’s operations have been hit since early Saturday morning after the airline’s server suffered a global shutdown. Officials said the airline’s SITA server was down all over India and overseas since 3.30am, delaying flights across the world.
Air India tweeted, "Due to a breakdown in our server system some of our flights are getting affected all over the world. Work is on in full swing to restore the system. We sincerely regret inconvenience caused to passengers".
Indira Gandhi International Airport's T3 terminal was filled with passengers waiting for information on their flights which were indefinitely delayed.
CMD Air India, Ashwani Lohani said, "Air India System restored".
