The FATF begins a key plenary today, which reviews the progress made by Pakistan in fighting terror financing. Ahead of this key plenary, a Pakistan court sentenced Lashkar-e-Tayiba boss, Hafiz Saeed in two cases of terror funding. Pakistan hopes that this move would ease the pressure at the FATF. Pakistan on repeatedly being questioned by the world as to why it is not acting against Azhar has said that it has not been able to file an FIR as he is missing. Pakistan would look to convince the FATF that it has acted on most of the parameters. However, Indian officials are confident that they would be able to convince the FATF that Pakistan needs to do much more.
