Giving the persecuted a home: Importance of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill

The issue that the nation is debating today is the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. The opposition is training its guns against the government and even says that it would move the Supreme Court against it. We discuss the need for the Bill that would not treat Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians who have crossed over to India from Pakistan, Afghanistan or Bangladesh as illegal immigrants outrightly and would provide them with some relief.
