DMK’s Youth wing organiser Billa Jegan arrested for killing brother

Billa Jegan, the DMK Youth wing organiser of Tuticorin South district shot his brother Simanji in the head, killing him instantly. Billa Jegan, 50, was arrested by the Tuticorin North Police in Kerala for killing his brother over a property dispute. Jegan is a supporter of Tiruchendur MLA Anitha R Radhakrishnan. Jegan has confessed to the crime and said that the victim fell to the ground and was unconscious and later died due to excessive bleeding. Police also arrested Jegan's friends Dinivapuram, Ranganatha Kannan, car driver Maniyanthan and acquaintance Bandaram. The accused were produced before the Tuticorin court and will be detained for 15 days. Reports also claim that Jegan and Simanji are accused in the murder of Sachin who had been stalking Jegan’s daughter in May 2017. Both brothers were arrested on charges of murder and then were let out on bail.
