Sikar (Rajasthan): Many grooms have created a buzz with their smashing entries. However, breaking stereotypes and promoting equality, a bride named Anitha Paliwal took out her own wedding procession (baraat) and rode a horse to reach the wedding venue in Sikar, Rajasthan.
Normally, in Indian marriage ceremonies, it's the groom, who comes to the wedding riding a hired horse or a mare as per tradition, but this was reversed by Anitha. Excited for her wedding, the bride said ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ should not just be on paper, but should be brought to action and these days women are equal to men in all sectors.
