Siang: A huge amount of cash was recovered from a vehicle, supposed to escort Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu from Tezu to Pasighat. The incident happened on Wednesday at the Siang guest house in East Siang district.
The Scorpio car was a part of Khandu’s convoy from Tezu to Pasighat via Roing. The deputy chief minister Chowna Mein was also supposed to go in the convoy.
During checking by the flying squad team of the Election Commission of India and income tax department, Rs 1.8 crore cash was recovered from the vehicle bearing registration number AR-01K-0009.
The squad also recovered a huge amount of cash from another vehicle with registration number: AR-01L-0006.
