Chennai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at various locations in Tamil Nadu as part of the probe into the Ansarullah terror module case today (July 20). The NIA conducted raids in Chennai, Madurai, Ramanathapuram and Tirunelveli.
The raids were conducted to investigate the involvement of the five accused, who were arrested for setting up Ansarullah. The accused are allegedly supporters of ISIS and Al-Qaeda terror outfits.
A day ago, a special NIA court granted the probe agency eight-day custody of 16 people arrested for allegedly attempting to set up the terror outfit Ansarullah. While 14 of them were arrested after they were deported to India last week from Saudi Arabia for allegedly attempting to set up ‘Ansarullah’ in Tamil Nadu, two were picked up by police in the state last Saturday.
