Considered as the best seller of medieval world from Java to Iceland – the Panchatantra is an ancient Indian collection of interrelated animal fables that has been translated in nearly every major language of India, and in addition there are 200 versions of the text in more than 50 languages around the world. On International Translation Day, we take a look at how the Panchatantra - a proud legacy, which most of us have completely chosen to ignore, has silently migrated throughout the world and become an effective tool of exchange among different cultures since antiquity.
