The monsoon season brings relief from the heat, but heavy rains can also cause problems, such as overflowing rivers and flooded roads. This not only affects people but also endangers wildlife. A recent viral video from Assam highlights a heartwarming rescue of an elephant calf caught in a flooded river.

Shared by Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the video shows the young elephant struggling against the strong river current. The calf keeps its trunk above the water while trying to reach the bank. Forest officials quickly noticed the situation and jumped into action. One official tied a rope around the calf, and together, they pulled it safely to shore.
