In Gujarat, the police have taken action against two individuals, Karan Sorathiya and Paresh Sorathiya, after they drove their Mahindra Thar SUVs into the sea near Mundra in Kutch. A video circulating online captured the moment when the vehicles got stuck in sand and deep water. Apparently, the duo was attempting to film a stunt video for Instagram Reels, but their plans went awry when high tide submerged the SUVs, leaving them stranded in the open sea.

Locals came to their rescue and managed to pull the vehicles out of the water. However, the Mundra Marine Police later seized both SUVs. The drivers fled the scene, prompting an investigation by the police into the incident.

Both Karan and Paresh have been booked under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 114 (abettor present when the offense is committed), 177 (general provision for punishment of offenses), and 184 (driving dangerously) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The video footage shows the group of friends in the sea with their red and white SUVs, struggling unsuccessfully to drive them out of the water. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported, but one of the SUVs suffered engine failure due to water damage.

Previously, another incident occurred in Goa where a tourist was caught driving recklessly on Anjuna Beach with an SUV. The vehicle got stuck in the sand, leading to an FIR against the driver, Lalit Kumar Dayal from Delhi. It was disclosed that the car had been rented from a resident in Goa.

These incidents highlight the dangers of reckless driving and the importance of adhering to safety regulations, especially in sensitive environments like beaches. Authorities continue to stress the need for responsible behavior to avoid endangering oneself and others while attempting such stunts.
