This is one of the most-used GIFs and people connect to it instantly. The GIF went viral, but the guy in it remained in the dark. After years together, all of a sudden, here is why the 'blinking eye guy' is trending.

Here is the story of the man behind blinking guy GIF identified as Drew Scanlon. He was playing a video game that was being live-streamed in 2013. After four years, a meme and GIF was generated using the reaction from the 2013 video. However, people recognised the face but his identity was not known.

Now, after two years of the meme and GIF going viral, he has come out in the open and revealed his identity.

He is using his most well-known face for a cause!

Drew Scanlon tweeted a GIF of himself with a message: "If this GIF has ever brought you joy in the past, I humbly ask you to consider making a donation to the National MS Society. It would mean a lot to me and to those I know affected by the disease!"

Drew Scanlon is batting for the cause of those affected by multiple sclerosis also known as MS.

On his website, Scanlon stated: "I’m not usually one to toot my own meme horn but in this case I’ll make an exception. You see, two close friends of mine and members of their families suffer from MS, a debilitating disease of the central nervous system that interrupts communication between the brain and the body."

"Millions of people suffer from MS and there is no known cure. This is where you come in."

Scanlon is also known to hold bicycle rides and one of his rides was from San Francisco as part of Bike MS as part of a fundraiser.

In his website, one can see the details of the money collected. Currently, it shows that Rs $28,281 has been collected and the goal is to collect Rs $ 30,000.
