Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The verdict on his custody will be out shortly. DK Shivakumar who was known as the troubleshooter of the party is currently facing charges and is himself in trouble. His daughter Aishwarya also was questioned by the ED.
Earlier, in 2017, he had successfully managed the Gujarat Congress MLAs before the crucial Rajya Sabha contest involving party veteran Ahmed Patel. He even managed to keep the Congress MLAs united after the Karnataka Assembly elections after which Congress and JD(S) formed the government.
However, trouble returned when MLAs started rebelling and 17 legislators from Congress and JD(S) went against the party. Even after trying hard, and despite protests in front of the hotel in Mumbai, Shivakumar could not be of much help.
