Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is a historic city. It is the birthplace of Lord Ram and has well-known temples, monuments, and sacred ghats that are open to the public.

Ayodhya was named after King Ayudh, who is listed in the ancient Hindu texts as Lord Rama's forebear. It is the birthplace of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and is popular among pilgrims and visitors. This religious village, located on the banks of the Saryu River, is named one of the seven most sacred sites in the Skanda Purana.

Ayodhya is a renowned pilgrimage place because of its deep connection to Hindu mythology. Ayodhya, with its surreal scenery, mantra chanting, and powerful aroma of sandalwood and blooms, will captivate your emotions.

To pique your interest, we have created a list of Ayodhya's top must-sees:

1. Ayodhya Ram Mandir: The title "Ram Janmabhoomi" literally translates as "Lord Ram's Birthplace." Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is supposed to have spent his boyhood near the Sarayu River in Ayodhya, as depicted in the Indian epic Ramayana. Ram Janmabhoomi is highly revered by Hindu devotees and is one of the greatest attractions to visit in Ayodhya.

2. Kanak Bhawan: The Kanak Bhawan is located in the top-left section of the Ram Temple complex near Tulsi Nagar. This temple, known also as Sone-ka-Ghar, was completed in 1891. It is a spiritual site honoring Lord Ram and his companion, Goddess Sita. Kanak Bhawan houses three statues of two gods with golden crowns. It is widely believed that Lord Ram's stepmother, Kaikeyi, gave him and Sita this temple as a gift.

3. Treta Ke Thakur: The Treta Ke Thakur Temple can be found in Ayodhya's Naya Ghat neighborhood. This temple contains various idols, including Lord Ram, Laxman, Hanuman, Sita, Bharat, and Sugreev. According to reports, each of these figurines was carved from a single block of black sandstone.

4. Hanumangarhi: Lord Hanuman is honored in the Hanuman Garhi, a 10th-century temple near Sai Nagar. It is customary to visit the Hanuman Garhi before visiting the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, making it one of the city's most notable temples. According to mythology, Lord Hanuman lived on the temple grounds and kept a watchful eye on Ayodhya.

5. Nageshwarnath Temple: The Nageshwarnath Temple in Ayodhya is located adjacent to Theri Bazaar. This temple was established to honor Lord Nageshwarnath, the region's patron deity. It is stated that Lord Rama's son, Kush, also known as Kusha, built it.

6. Sita Ki Rasoi: Sita ki Rasoi, located on the northwest corner of the Ram Janmabhoomi in Rajkot, Ayodhya, is said to be a medieval kitchen used by Sita. This hallowed spot is now a temple with several exhibit vessels. It was constructed nearby the Ram Janmabhoomi. Sita Ki Rasoi is an underground kitchen, one of two that bear Sita's name.

7. Dashrath Bhavan: The Dashrath Mahal, also known as Badi Jagah and Bada Asthan, is home to several beautiful temples devoted to Lord Ram. Lord Rama is claimed to have spent his youth in this splendid palace, which also served as King Dasharath's capital. The palace's entrance is grandiose and features some stunning murals.
