7 historical oldest temples of India

India has more than 2000 temples, each of which is noteworthy in its own position. As a result, some Indian temples are the oldest in the world, having been constructed more than 10 thousand years ago.
 

It is hardly surprising that India's temples rank among its most precious assets given its rich history and culture. Numerous architectural wonders and temples dating back more than a millennium have been bestowed upon the nation by the confluence of religion, culture, and customs.

There was a period when combative arts, music, and dance were practiced in these old Indian temples. They are both relics from the past that bring back memories and showcase the architectural genius of the ancient artisans.
Following India's rich cultural legacy, these are a few of the most exquisite antique temples in the nation. 

1. Mundeshwari Devi Temple, Bihar
The goddess Shakti is honored at the Maa Mundeshwari Temple. It is located in India's Bihar state. Constructed in the third century BC, the octagonal-shaped temple sits atop Kaimur Hills. At Maa Mundeshwari temple, one of the oldest in India, the ceremonies have continued uninterrupted ever since.

2. The Temples of Hampi, Karnataka
The historical ruins and legacy of Hampi, which located in the southern state of Karnataka, are well known worldwide. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its Group of Monuments spans more than 4,100 hectares (16 square miles).

3. Konark Sun Temple, Oddisa
Situated in the small hamlet of Konark in Puri, Orissa, the Konark Sun Temple was constructed in the thirteenth century by the monarchs of the Eastern Ganga dynasty. This architectural wonder is devoted to the sun deity, and the enormous building is designed to imitate the sun god's chariot, pulled by seven horses and equipped with twelve pairs of intricately carved stone wheels. 

4. Dhwarkadhis Temple, Gujrat
The Dwarkadhish Temple, also known as Jagat Mandir, is the main attraction for travelers visiting Dwarka. It is thought to have been founded more than 2500 years ago by Vajranabh, the great-grandson of Lord Krishna. 

5. Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, Rajasthan
This Hindu temple is regarded as one of the oldest in the world and is situated near the Pushkar Lake, which is revered in Pushkar, Rajasthan. 

The temple itself is thought to be two millennia old, but the current building only dates to the fourteenth century. The Jagatpita Brahma Temple, which is devoted to the god Brahma, is made of stone and marble and features swan, or hamsa, themes throughout.

6. Tungnath Temple, Uttarakhand
The highest Shiva temple in the world, the Tungnath temple, is located in India and dates back to ancient times. It stands at a height of 3,680 meters (12,073 ft). With Madhyamaheshwar, Kedarnath, Rudranath, and Kalpeshwar as its fellow Panch Kedar temples, it is also the highest due to its elevation. Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, is location to this ancient temple.

7. Kailasha Temple, Maharashtra
The Kailasa temple, which is located in cave 16 of the Ellora Caves in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, was constructed in AD 760 by King Krishna I to symbolize Mt. Kailasa, Shiva's Himalayan residence. Because its enormous size, incredible architecture, and incredibly intricate carvings, this spectacular temple is regarded as one of India's greatest monuments.
