Southern India is a wonderful region that combines a variety of climates and landscapes into one lovely area of the country. Many think that traveling by car is the best way to experience southern India.

As one travels south, the great cultural diversity of India gracefully comes into view for tourists. You simply cannot get enough of the sea that plays along the entire coastline, not forgetting the stunning states, cities, and resorts. Your journey is worthwhile because of the absolutely stunning circumstances, historical landmarks, and contemporary wonders. 

Many think that traveling by car is the best way to experience southern India. Self-drive vacations in South India are unmatched, whether it's a leisurely trip through the Western Ghats or a windy, breathtaking journey along the coast.

1. Chennai to Tirupati Trip:
Tirupati is considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in South India. The heavenly location in Andhra Pradesh's spiritual capital will not only heal your soul, but your eyes will be soothed by the alluring natural scenery.

2. Chennai to Munnar:
This is a road trip to remember because of the beautifully maintained roads, stunning vistas of the sea and the tea plantations, and fantastic weather. There are plenty of delicious restaurants (local shacks) along the route where you can grab some meals.

3. Chennai to Yercaud:
Yercaud, Tamil Nadu, is around 365.5 miles away from Chennai, and it takes about 6 hours and 30 minutes to get there. South India's Yercaud is a charming town well-known for its tourist attractions. 

4. Kochi to Wayanad: 
You really should put the Wayanad Hills on your summer bucket list. It will take approximately seven hours to travel the approximately 280 miles to Wayanad. The drive climbs in altitude as you leave Kochi's coastline area behind, with meandering roads and an abundance of green scenery to acclimate you.

5. Bengaluru to Gokarna: 
Gokarna is the ideal vacation spot if you think Goa is too popular and would like to get away from the busy beaches of Goa. It takes roughly 10 hours to travel the roughly 500 km from Bengaluru to Gokarna.

6. Bangalore to Ooty: 
A road trip from Bangalore to Ooty is a must for any travel enthusiast. Situated in the rolling hills of the Nilgiri range, it provides incomparable views of verdant peaks and meandering pathways. There are many restaurants located around the well-maintained roadways.
