Hyderabad: An order to restrict movement of outsiders, who are not voters, has been issued by the Telangana authorities. This measure has been taken to prevent any disturbance during the polls.
Telangana is going for Assembly elections on December 7. Campaigns have come to an end and now, the police force in the state is eyeing at controlling any suspicious movement that might lead to problems during elections.
Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy issued an order to restrict movement of non-voters in Hyderabad for the next 48 hours, till the voting process is complete.
Thus, outsiders (who are not voters) cannot stay in wedding halls, community halls or cannot gather in any such public premises for the next two days till December 7.
The enforcement authorities are keeping a tab on lodges and guesthouses and are checking the details of occupants. Till tomorrow, there will be frequent checks in all hotels, lodges and community service places.
Earlier, the Telangana government had banned bulk SMS service for 48 days, till the elections are over. This measure has been taken to curb any tension arising out of messages sent to masses with an aim to create political unrest, that might lead to protests.
