KT Rama Rao has challenged Revant Reddy to quit politics if he doesn't win Kodangal constituency in Telangana. In turn, Reddy asked, 'Will Rao quit if I win Kodangal?'

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader KT Rama Rao and Congress leader Revant Reddy continued to indulge in a war of words and have challenged each other to quit, post Telangana Assembly election results.

Caretaker chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao's son, KT Rama Rao and Telangana Congress president Revant Reddy have thrown many challenges to each other, especially after the announcement of elections.

In the latest of exchanges, Rao challenged Reddy to quit if he loses the Kodangal seat. Reddy, in turn, asked if Rao would quit when Reddy wins the Kodangal seat.

Earlier, Revant Reddy announced that he would stage protests if Chandrasekhar Rao campaigns in his constituency (Kodangal). Replying to the same KT Rama Rao had said that Revant Reddy should quit politics if he loses from Kodangal in this Assembly election. Meanwhile, after Revant Reddy made the comment, he was arrested. Revant Reddy had criticised KT Rama Rao for arresting him with “political intentions”.

Revant Reddy further accused Rao of not keeping his promises. Giving an example for the same, he said that Rao had promised to quit politics if TRS failed to win 100 divisions in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections. But TRS won 99 and was one short of Rao's claim. However, Rao had not resigned from politics, Reddy said.

Telangana Assembly elections were held on December 7 and results would be out on December 11.

Will KT Rama Rao accept his challenge or will Revant Reddy resign if he doesn't win Kodangal? Or will both forget their past challenges and promises? Only time will tell.
