Rahul Gandhi criticised Telangana’s caretaker chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as a corrupt man, who promoted demonetisation and GST. He also called Rao as PM Modi’s remote control.

Hyderabad: Congress president Rahul Gandhi, on Monday accused the Telangana caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of being scared of Prime Minister Narendra Modi because of his corrupt nature. "As Modi has CBI and Enforcement Directorate at his disposal, KCR is afraid of him,” said Rahul Gandhi while addressing the crowd during a road show in Hyderabad. He was campaigning with N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and president of Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Speaking on the issue, Rahul Gandhi said, "Wherever Modi speaks, he criticises me, ridicules me and my family, but he speaks nothing against KCR. This shows they are hand in glove."

Rahul Gandhi also criticised KCR’s role in supporting Modi’s decision on demonetisation and GST. He stated that the CM owed a justification to the people in Telangana as both the measures had caused distress to the people. He also claimed that PM Modi was running the Telangana elections through a remote control.

During his address in Hyderabad, Rahul Gandhi said that KCR received contributions from the PM in his irrigation projects because of which he supports the decisions of BJP on bills and on electing the President and Vice President. He also commented that the Congress-led People’s Front will break off the partnership that KCR and Modi share while addressing rallies in Tandur and Gadwal.

TRS is Modi’s ‘B’ team and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is his ‘C’ team, Rahul Gandhi said. "We will defeat B and C teams in this election. Next year, we will defeat the ‘A’ team." He also addressed the debt condition of the state and said, “Every family has a debt burden of Rs 2.5 lakh, but the income of the caretaker chief minister's son has gone up by 400%." He added that when Telangana was formed, there was a surplus in the budget of Rs 17,000 crore and the people’s dream was to make ‘golden Telangana’, but only KCR’s family has turned ‘golden’ with them coming to power.
