Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, all parties are steadfast with their campaigns. Wife of DMDK chief, Premalatha Vijayakanth, is no different. While campaigning, Premalatha questioned the DMK’s silence on Sadiq Pasha, who died under mysterious circumstances during the 2G spectrum case.
Coimbatore: DMDK chief Vijayakanth’s wife Premalatha was campaigning for Mahendran in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, when she raised critical questions regarding the DMK.
During her rally for the Lok Sabha election, Premalatha said that DMK chief MK Stalin is all up in arms now, but she questioned if he would utter any word about the mysterious death of Sadiq Basha when the 2G spectrum case was underway.
Premalatha further questioned the DMK’s silence on issues pertaining to women such as the Pollachi sexual assault case and the suspected rape and murder of a seven-year-old child in Coimbatore.
“Summons were issued to the DMK members in the Pollachi sexual assault case, but they never showed up. The AIADMK and its allies are the ones, who are in favour of women’s rights and issues,” stated Premalatha.
All women must be brought up brave and confident like former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, added Premalatha.
Slamming the Congress for its lack of concern, Premalatha added that the DMK-Congress have never worked to benefit the women in our country.
Speaking about the Prime Ministerial candidate, Premalatha asked, “We are all clear that our Prime Ministerial candidate is none other than PM Modi. Can the Congress tell us who their PM candidate is?”
Adding that Mahendran’s works have benefited the people, Premalatha said that he can continue to do so if he is elected to power in the Pollachi constituency once again.
The mega alliance involves the BJP, AIADMK, DMDK, Puthiya Tamizhagam, Tamil Maanila Congress and NR Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Tamil Nadu will go to polls on April 18.
