A 5-year-old was keen to meet her “hero” Kohli at the ground. However, the girl was heartbroken when, even after waiting for over an hour, she couldn’t meet Kohli or even get a "hello" from him
The stage is set for England-India Test series to commence on 1 August. Captain Virat Kohli warmed up nicely with a half century in the only practice game while Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara and Shikhar Dhawan failed.
Along with Kohli, Murali Vijay, Dinesh Karthik, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya too were among the runs. While skipper Kohli brought joy to his supporters, there was one youngster who was disappointed with the Delhi right-hander.
It is a known fact that Kohli has fans all over the globe. And it was no different in Chelmsford when India played Essex in a three-day warm-up game last week.
A 5-year-old was keen to meet her “hero” Kohli at the ground. However, the girl was heartbroken when, even after waiting for over an hour, she couldn’t meet Kohli or even get a "hello" from him.
Daughter waited twice for over an hour to meet her hero and he just walked passed even when your security politely asked him to stop for her. Can't fault your security persons who were fantastic with her. But she'll never get a better chance to see her hero. Real shame pic.twitter.com/0UDBVpR0XH

Bumrah met her personally and upon discovering that her father is a Mumbai Indians fan, he gifted him a cap.

He also thanked the Essex county staff for being understanding and doing their level best to comply with his little girl’s wishes.
They maybe from differing nations, but the religion of cricket is king and these bowlers made this girl happy pic.twitter.com/x6lWxuDJLr
