Paris: Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the rape allegations against him were affecting his personal life.

"Of course this story is interfering in my life," said the 33-year-old Ronaldo, who has denied any wrongdoing.

"I have a partner, four children, an aging mother, sisters, a brother, a family I’m very close to. Not to mention my reputation, which is of somebody who is exemplary," he added.

According to media reports, Ronaldo made this comments in an interview to France Football magazine, excerpts of which were released on Monday.

"I explained everything to my partner," Ronaldo, who moved to Juventus from Real Madrid, said.

"My son, Cristiano Jr., is too young to understand it. I feel the worst for my mother and sisters. They’re stunned by it all but, at the same time, very angry. This is the first time that I’ve seen them in this state," he added.

Earlier this month, Kathryn Mayorga went public, alleging that Ronaldo had raped her in 2009 in a Las Vegas hotel room and she also filed a civil lawsuit in Nevada.

Ronaldo denied the allegations and said it was "completely consensual".

"I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in," Ronaldo had said in a statement.
