Jakarta: Winning a medal for India at Asian Games 2018 is a big achievement for an athlete. However, for this archer, there is even more satisfying feat. That is passing his Class 12 exams.
The 24-year-old Rajat Chauhan (pictured above, right), on Tuesday, bagged his second consecutive Asian Games medal. In the previous edition, he won compound team gold but this time he had to be content with a silver medal after the Indian men’s team lost narrowly to South Korea in the compound final.
Chauhan took five attempts to clear his Class 12. And he hopes that it won’t take so long to finish college.
"Jee woh kahawat abhi bhee lagu hain. Padoge likhoge banoge nawab, kheloge kudoge hoge kharab (you will make it big if you are educated, sports won't lead you anywhere). It is still taken very seriously in my family. More than that, the fact I have cleared after so many attempts gives me a lot of satisfaction," Chauhan told PTI after the final.

India lost to Korea in a shoot-off after the scores were tied 229-229 after the regular four sets in the compound team final. Aman Saini and Abhishek Verma were the other members of the team along with Chauhan.
