Jakarta: India won four medals on Friday at the ongoing Asian Games in Indonesia. Three came from sailing while the other was in boxing.

Varsha Gautham and Sweta Shervegar won silver in women’s 49er FX sailing event while Varun Thakkar and KC Ganapathy bagged a bronze in men’s 49er races.

Harshita Tomar, the 16-year-old, finished third in Open Laser 4.7 to take the bronze after 12 races at the Indonesia National Sailing Centre.

In the boxing ring, India’s Vikas Krishan had to pull out of his men's 75kg category semi-final due to an injury. He was declared medically unfit to face Kazakhstan's Amankul Abilkhan and had to settle for the bronze medal.

The boxer had sustained an injury above his left eyelid during the pre-quarterfinal bout and it was aggravated in the last-eight match.

“There is inflammation in the retina as well and it is too risky to let him fight. He will have to take a break for a few weeks,” an Indian boxing official told PTI.
