Shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar secured a bronze medal for India in the 10 m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, finishing behind China and Chinese Taipei

Jakarta: Indian shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar secured the first medal for India at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday.

The duo secured a bronze medal for India after being eliminated at a crucial stage in the 10 m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, finishing behind China and Chinese Taipei.

Chandela and Kumar got 429.9 points in the final, while China settled for silver with 492.5 points, and Chinese Taipei bagging the gold with 494.1 points.

They qualified for the final at second position w a score of 835.3 points behind South Korea (836.7 points). Korea finished fourth in the final.
