Asian Games 2018: India's gold haul in double figures as Arpinder Singh jumps to glory

Jakarta: Arpinder Singh gave India its fourth gold in athletics as he topped the men’s triple jump final at the Asian Games 2018 here on Wednesday.

Arpinder’s jump of 16.77 metres won him gold at GBK Stadium. Uzbekistan’s Ruslan Kurbanov took silver (16.62m) and Shuo Cao of China (16.56) completed the top-three standings in the final.

Another Indian in the 14-man field, Rakesh Babu, finished sixth.

Tajinderpal Singh (shot put), Neeraj Chopra (javelin throw), Manjit Singh (men’s 800m) and Arpinder have been India’s golden men in athletics in current Asiad.

Overall, India has won 10 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze.
