Ahead of this month’s Asia Cup, 24-year-old Ali passed the yo-yo test with an impressive score of 20, surpassing Kohli’s best of 19
New Delhi: In a surprising turn of events, Pakistan's fast bowler Hasan Ali has emerged as the top performer in the yo-yo fitness test beating India captain Virat Kohli.
Ahead of this month’s Asia Cup, 24-year-old Ali passed the yo-yo test with an impressive score of 20, surpassing Kohli’s best of 19.
Ali bettered the likes of Sarfraz Ahmed and Shoaib Malik, who managed scores of 18.4 and 17.8 respectively, Pakistan media reported.
After making his debut for Pakistan in 2016, Ali has been impressive. He won the Player of the series award in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 as Pakistan beat India in the final.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made it mandatory for the players to clear yo-yo tests. In recent times, cricketers have been dropped from the national team after failing to pass the test.
