New Delhi: India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for his sexist and misogynistic comments on a TV talk show, has now lost a major endorsement deal.

Pandya and KL Rahul had appeared on “Koffee with Karan”, hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar. Pandya had made controversial comments about women and faced a severe backlash on social media.

On the show, Pandya boasted about hooking up with multiple women and also how open he has been about it with his parents.

When asked why he didn't ask women their name in a club, Pandya responded by saying, "I like to watch and observe how they (women) move. I'm little from the black side so I need to see how they move."

Taking note of those comments, Gillette has decided to end its contract with the 25-year-old Pandya, who endorsed Gillette Mach3 men’s shaving razor.

A Gillette spokesman told The Times of India on Saturday, "The latest statement from Hardik Pandya is against Gillette's ideals. We have decided to end the agreement with Hardik till the next action."

On Friday, BCCI suspended both Pandya and Rahul pending inquiry. The duo were sent back home from Australia where they were part of the ODI team for a three-match series against the hosts.

The controversial episode involving Pandya and Rahul was pulled down by Hotstar.
