In a Facebook post, Sajitha Madathil had written about the unpleasant experience that she had with a person who had identified himself as Karthik working as an assistant director in Tamil movies.

Thiruvananthapuram: Last year the #MeToo campaign exposed many casting couch evils from various industries, it seems the number of sexual harassment cases has not really come down. Popular Malayalam actor Sajitha Madathil recently shared a similar account where she was asked 'if she was ready for adjustments'.

In a Facebook post, the actress opened up about the shocking experience and gave it back in style. “An assistant director from Tamil Nadu appened to call. He inquired about my interest in acting in a Tamil movie. I asked him to let me know about the project details via mail. Agreeing to it, before cutting the call, he asked me one amazing question...”
“Hope you are ready for adjustments and compromises...” “Well, here's the number +91 97914 33384. Those who are ready should denitely call this guy.” (SIC)

In an interview with a news agency, IANS, Madathil told that she had posted on Facebook about the bad behaviour she had to face from a person who called her and identified himself as Karthik and working as an assistant director in Tamil movies.

"The call came on Monday asking me details about my films and after a while came the unexpected statement - 'are you ready for compromises and adjustments?'. This was a shock to me," Madathil said.

She said she then posted about the sequence of events on Facebook, including the number of the caller.

"Later, through someone known to me, he said he is prepared to apologise, and also said I was mistaken. I made my stand clear and said I wish to know the reason why he is apologising to which I got no response," Madathil said.

"At the moment I am busy with other things, and I have not given a thought on what my next move should be with regards to this behaviour, which is not at all acceptable," the actress added.

On her work front, Sajitha Madathil's acting career started with the theatre way back in the late 1980s, making her mark in Malayalam movies starting in the late 1990s, and has more than 30 films to her credit so far.

Not just that she also won several awards, which includes the Kerala state award for the second best actress in the 2013 film "Shutter".
