Sukumara Kurup: Dulquer Salmaan is now Kerala's most wanted criminal

Srinath shared the news of the beginning of shooting of the movie Kurup which will see Dulquer Salmaan play the role of Kerala’s most wanted criminal Sukumara Kurup.

Kerala: Mollywood superstar Dulquer Salmaan’s who will be seen in The Zoya Factor is not wasting any time. The actor is all set for the shooting of his next movie. The much-awaited film of Dulquer Salmaan on Sukumara Kurup’s biopic Kurup, directed by Srinath Rajendran has been set in motion. Srinath helmed the actor’s first film, Second Show.

Though the film Kurup was announced two years ago, the filmmaker has decided to start shooting now.

In the movie, Dulquer will play Kurup, Kerala’s most wanted criminal. As per reports, Kurup faked his own death and claimed insurance of Rs. 8,00,000. To accomplish his plan, he murdered a person named Chacko in 1984. Chacko was strangled to death and his body was burnt inside a car. KS Aravind and Daniell Sayooj Nair have penned the story.

In a recent Facebook post, Srinath confirmed the news of the film and shared a post that revealed that the shooting of the movie had begun. He even shared a fan-made poster of the movie in which Salmaan is seen wearing a stylish glass. The director hasn’t furnished details of the other crew.

He wrote, “Grateful to the almighty for this day, on which we announce the good news that "Kurup" goes on the floor from today. We took around 5 years of our sweet time working on this epic and I, personally, thank Dulquer Salmaan for being with us throughout this journey. Details regarding the crew, cast and other whereabouts will be announced soon… Here is a "fan-made" poster done by a very talented friend Sani Yas, which I liked very much and felt should get released officially today. Saimaa here it is.”

Actor Dulquer will be seen with Sonam Kapoor in The Zoya Factor that releases on Sep 20.
