Rahul Gandhi's close aide and Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda, during an interview, said, “If they (IAF) killed 300, it is ok. All I am saying is can you give me more facts and prove it.”
New Delhi: Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda on Friday questioned the Balakot air strike conducted the Indian Air Force on February 26 following the Pulwama massacre.
The close aide of Rahul Gandhi, during an interview with ANI, said, “If they (IAF) killed 300, it is ok. All I am saying is can you give me more facts and prove it.”
Pitroda also pointed out how International media outlets had an alternate story about the event. He said that people of Indian deserve to know the truth about the non-military pre-emptive strike.
“ I would like to know a little more because I read reports in the New York Times and other newspaper. Did we really attack? We really killed 300 people? I don’t know that. As a citizen, I am entitled to know and if in ask that doesn’t mean I am not a nationalist. We need to know the facts. When global media comes and says that nobody was killed, I look bad as an Indian citizen,” he added.

— ANI (@ANI)Pitroda, who is a part of the Congress’s manifesto committee for the 2019 Lok Sabha election, called himself a Gandhian and said he believes in non-violence.
“I believe in more compassion and respect. I believe in more dialogues personally. I think we should have a dialogue with everybody. Why just Pakistan? We are having dialogue with the whole world,” added Pitroda.
Taking about the Pulwama attack on February 14 by Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammed, which killed more than 40 CRPF jawans, Pitroda said that it is wrong to blame the entire Pakistan. “Naive to assume that just because some people came here&attacked,every citizen of that nation is to be blamed. I don’t believe in that way,” the Congress leader added.

— ANI (@ANI)Pitroda is not the first Congress leader to question India’s action after the Pulwama massacre. Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh demanded evidence from the Centre of the Indian Air Force air strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed’s terror camp in Balakot.

“I am not questioning the recent IAF action against Pakistan-based terrorist camps. But pictures of any incident in open space can be accessed through satellite technology. So we should also give evidence, the way the United States government presented evidence of Osama bin Laden’s killing before the world,” he added.
Moreover, some Congress members have also insulted the martyrs in the Pulwama attack. Congress leader and former MP Noor Bano said,“It was the duty of the forces to prevent the attack. They had the indications of an attack, then why didn't they take precautions? The armed forces are solely responsible for this attack.”
Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu also defended Pakistan and said that talks between the two countries should not stop.
