NIA has filed a supplementary chargesheet against accused Nashidul Hamzafar in Kerala's ISIS Kasaragod module case where youths were recruited from India for ISIS.
National Investigation Team (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against accused Nashidul Hamzafar in Kerala's ISIS Kasaragod module case where youths were recruited from India for ISIS.
The case relates to the criminal conspiracy hatched by accused persons from Kasaragod district of Kerala and their associates since 2015 with the intention of joining and furthering the objectives of the proscribed terrorist organization ISIS/ Daish.
"Pursuant to the conspiracy, 14 accused from Kasaragod district had exited India or their workplaces in Middle-East Asia between mid-May and early-July, 2016 before travelling to Afghanistan or Syria, where they have joined the ISIS/ Daish," NIA said.
Last year in September, NIA arrested Nashidul Hamzafar after he was deported to Delhi from Kabul, Afghanistan, where he was arrested by Afghan Security Agencies in October, 2017 for illegally entering the country and attempting to physically join his co-conspirators.
"Nashidul Hamzafar had maintained contact with the other absconding accused in this case including the prime conspirator Abdul Rashid Abdulla and Ashfak Majeed, who was known to him through his college-mates Shihas and Firoz Khan besides accused Bestin Vincent in a similar case," NIA claimed.
The investigator has claimed that pursuant to the criminal conspiracy hatched with the fugitive ISIS/ Daish member, in this case, Nashidul Hamzafar had exited India on 3rd October, 2017 and travelled to Muscat, Oman before travelling to Iran and further reaching Kabul, Afghanistan, where he was arrested by the Afghan Security Agencies.
This was one among such cases where NIA had not filed chargesheet. According to the sources NIA had headshot few documents from other countries including Kabul due to which there was a delay of almost 3 years in filing the chargesheet.
NIA may also file another chargesheet in the case as other details which have been sought by the investigators from other countries are pending.
