After AAP’s Atishi appealed to the people to vote for goons, today it was Navjot Singh Sidhu’s turn.

New Delhi: With the ongoing 'Game of Thrones' between the two main political rivals, BJP and the Congress, voters are subjected to over-the-top comments by campaigners. It seems some of the politicians wouldn’t let the people miss Mani Shankar Aiyar.

After AAP’s Atishi appealed to the people to vote for goons, today it was Navjot Singh Sidhu’s turn.
The Punjab cabinet minister took to Twitter to cut down to size the BJP, saying, “One wrong vote can turn your child into a 'Chaiwala', 'Pakorawala' and 'Chowkidar'.”

एक गलत वोट आपके बच्चों को चायवाला, पकौड़ेवाला या चौकीदार बना सकता है|

Better prevent and prepare, rather then repent and repair...

— Navjot Singh Sidhu (@sherryontopp)

Sidhu tweeted on Monday when 72 constituencies in 9 states including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Bengal and Uttar Pradesh are going to polls in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

This is not the first time the cricketer-turned-politician sparked controversy.

Earlier, Sidhu condemned the Pulwama terror attack on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy which killed 45 troopers. He said that the entire nation (Pakistan) could not be blamed for the actions of a handful of people.

"This (attack) should be condemned by all. For a handful of people, you cannot blame an entire nation. Those behind the attack must be punished," Sidhu said.

In another incident, Sidhu had urged Muslim voters of a Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar with a sizeable population of the minority community to vote en bloc and defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Do not consider yourself as being in a minority. You constitute the majority here. You are about 64 per cent. Do not fall into the trap laid down by people like Owaisi (president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen). They have been propped up by the BJP," Sidhu had said.

Such never-ending moot statements of Sidhu against the BJP is facing a lot of flak. The question is, whether anybody takes him seriously at all.
