A day after BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav claimed that YSR Congress is nothing but a “second version of Chandrababu Naidu's TDP”, BJP leader Piyush Desai continues to blame Jagan Mohan Reddy's government for poor governance in the state.

Vijayawada: BJP national general secretary, Ram Madhav, on Wednesday (July 24) lashed out at the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) by reportedly claiming that the ruling state government is no less than the previous N Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the state.

Addressing a gathering, Ram Madhav said, "YSRCP and TDP both are the same in terms of governance. The state appears to have fallen from the frying pan into the fire."

Ram Madhav further continued his speech by claiming that the TDP is the past, YSRCP is the present, and the BJP would be the future of Andhra Pradesh.

Reacting to Ram Madhav's claims, BJP leader from the Vijayawada West constituency, Piyush Desai spoke to MyNation and said, "What our Ram Madhav Ji said yesterday (July 24) is true. The people have voted for the YSRCP to bring better development to the state. But, these two parties (YSRCP and TDP) blame each other in the Assembly. They are not going forward with any developments in the state."

"Developments can not only be with job opportunities. Even if it is, has it been implemented wisely? The Central government is also lending a helping hand to the state. If it is not used in the right way, what is the point of forming the government and for what reason has the government been formed?" the BJP leader questioned.

Speaking to MyNation, TDP spokesperson, Prem Kumar Jain said, "The BJP sees Jagan as a weak chief minister. They are using him so that the BJP could come to power. We are not in power, and we cannot do anything. Jagan should be aware of this. Yesterday BJP blamed us, and today they are blaming the YSRCP."

"When Jagan met the Prime Minister after he took oath as Andhra Pradesh chief minister, the PM said that the state would not be granted special category status (SCS). Even then, Jagan has been quiet. When we (TDP) were in power, we stood for SCS and still are fighting for it. There is no way YSRCP can be like us. Not ever," the TDP leader added.

The quarrel between the BJP, YSRCP and the TDP began after the BJP national general secretary, as part of the massive membership drive, on Wednesday (July 24) organised a door to door campaign in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh where the party met several people, and promised them that their party would provide all the required necessities to the people.
