Amaravati: BJP national spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao on Tuesday (June 11), reportedly, spoke to Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and made it clear that he has no information if the post of deputy speaker of Lok Sabha was offered to the YSR Congress Party.
The national spokesperson told reporters after meeting Jagan at the latter's official residence that it was a courtesy call and that they did not discuss politics.
Speaking to reporters, Narasimha Rao said that he did not know as to which party would be offered the deputy speaker's post. He said the BJP leaders would later decide the same.
The BJP leader further said that he did not know whether the post is likely to be offered to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
His reaction was sought based on reports which stated that as both the Congress and the DMK declined the offer of the deputy speaker's post, YSRCP, the third most prominent opposition party, would be offered the position.
