“Dhanush was born with a hearing impairment but we never saw it as something that could hamper his ability and talent. He got his first cochlear implant at the age of one but it was replaced at the age of nine, as it malfunctioned. I and my wife wanted him to believe that he can achieve anything in life,” his father Srikanth, who works as a project manager in Bengaluru, was quoted as saying by Indian Express newspaper.

India's high performance coach for the junior rifle team Suma Shirur hailed “thre musketeers” for winning gold.

“Congrats to Dhanush Shrikant for Individual Gold and Shahu Mane for Bronze, and well played Hriday Hazarika for 7th position in Air Rifle Men Jr. at Doha in the #AsianShootingChampionships. The three musketeers also combined to snatch the team gold ahead of China in second!,” Suma tweeted.
