Bengaluru: The power of social media once again came to the fore as two Indian school kids were appreciated by gymnastics legend Nadia Comaneci after a video went viral on Twitter.

A boy and a girl, in their school uniforms, were seen in a 15-second video clip doing tough gymnastic moves. It also caught the attention of Union sports minister Kiren Rijiju.

The video was first posted on Twitter by a user named MV Rao with the caption, "What a pretty picture! Future Gymnasts in making (video via social media) (sic)."

Romania's 57-year-old Nadia, who won five Olympic golds (three in 1976 and two in 1980, Moscow), tweeted the same video with the caption "This is awesome". Nadia was the first to score a perfect 10 in gymnastics, at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.

Earlier this year, Nadia had given advice to Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar, who had impressed at Rio Olympics 2016. “She (Dipa) does not need to move overseas to be able to challenge for a medal at the next Olympics. She clearly has a very supportive system in India and all I would suggest to her is to perhaps go abroad and train, either in America or any other country where there are good gymnasts, for just a short while. Just a week or two, to change the environment and then back to India,” Nadia had said.

Earlier, Rijiju had replied to Rao's tweet as he wrote, "These kids are raw talents. Will get them connected to a gymnastic academy if someone brings them to me."

Later, he appreciated Nadia's tweet as well. He replied to her, I'm happy that
@nadiacomaneci10 tweeted it! As first gymnast who scored perfect 10.0 at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, and then, received six more perfect 10s to win three gold medals, it becomes very special. I've urged to introduce these kids to me (sic)."
