A man approached YSR chief Jagan Reddy and requested him for a selfie. Following which, the youth slashed the hand of Jagan Reddy, much to his shock.
Visakhapatnam: Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress or YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was attacked with a sharp object by a man, who requested for a selfie with him at the Visakhapatnam airport in Andhra Pradesh.
After posing for selfie, the youth slashed the hand of Jagan Reddy, much to his shock and his security personnel. The blade is said to be similar to the kind used during cock fights.
The man, identified as Raju, working in one of the restaurants inside the airport, was immediately taken into custody. But the purpose behind the attack is not known yet.
The man is also said to have asked if he is confident of winning 160 seats in the general elections, next year.
The supporters of Jagan including YSRCP MLA Roja Selvamani have slammed the security provided by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government. She questioned the authorities as to how the sharp object was allowed inside the airport. Even a common material like nail cutter is not allowed inside the airport, and how was this sharp knife allowed, she asked.
That apart, no one is generally allowed to walk near Jagan Reddy apart from his associates and security crew. How did this man make his way into the waiting lounge of the airport, is another question that concerns the party.
