Watch: Bengal IAS officer thrashes youth while police remain mute spectators

District magistrate of Alipurduar Nikhil Nirmal was caught on camera beating a young man black and blue. According to reports, the youth, identified as Vinod Kumar Sarkar, wrote inappropriate comments on the Facebook profile of Nirmal’s wife. 

What is more shocking is that the incident took place inside a police station and in presence of the police in-charge. In the footage, the IAS officer is heard threatening the youth. “In my district, no one speaks against me. If I can put you in jail in half an hour, I can also go to your house and kill you,” he said.
