Witnesses have testified that Balabhaskar himself was driving the car at the time of the accident. A person from Chavara approached the Kollam police with a new revelation claiming that Balabhaskar was in the back seat when the driver got juice for him.
Thiruvananthapuram: On November 23, late violinist Balabhaskar’s family came forward raising suspicion regarding the death of the artiste and his daughter. Late violinist Balabhaskar's father Unni submitted a complaint to Kerala's DGP Loknath Behra and the chief minister seeking a detailed inquiry related to the death of the Balabhaskar and his daughter.
After examining the case, the statement of the violinist's wife Lakshmi and driver Arjun would be recorded again. Arjun stated that Balabhaskar was driving the car from Thrissur to Trivandrum after drinking juice in Kollam. Lakshmi too had mentioned that Balabhaskar had juice from Kollam.

A person from Chavara approached the Kollam Police with a new revelation. The Chavara native said that Balabhaskar was in the back seat when the driver got juice for him.
Balabhaskar and his family had met with an accident at Pallipuram near Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in the early hours of September 25.
The police have taken statements from five witnesses in total. A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) driver was the first one to reach the spot for rescue and his statement was also taken. Rescue workers and local residents said that Balabhaskar was taken out of the driver’s seat. Drivers of other vehicles passing by also gave a similar statement.

Meanwhile, doctors who conducted the post-mortem have visited the accident spot. The police have also conducted a background check of the driver Arjun. Balabhaskar's wife Lakshmi had testified that Arjun was driving at the time of the accident and Arjun later denied it.
Earlier, it was reported that the driver was behind the wheel when the accident occurred. A few days ago, Balabhaskar’s driver Arjun had said to the Kerala Police that Balabhaskar himself had driven the car on September 25.
Later, Balabhaskar's wife Lakshmi had told the police that the driver had been driving while the accident happened. And Balabhaskar had sat at the back seat when the accident happened. Lakshmi further said that she and her daughter were sitting in the front seat with Arjun.
