New Delhi: A woman and her domestic help were found dead on Wednesday night at their residence in Vasant Kunj in Delhi. Three people were involved in the murder, and after carrying out the murder, they went to the police station and confessed to their crime.
The police are yet to establish the motive of the murder, though the accused told police that robbery was the reason for the murder.
According to the police, the accused and main conspirator, Rahul, working as a master tailor, has had a past marred by crime. He was involved in the sexual assault of a child in 2017.
"At around 2.45 am, three people came to the police station and disclosed that they have committed a murder at A-82, Vasant Kunj Enclave," the police said.
"The police immediately rushed to the spot to verify the facts. On reaching the spot, the body of the house owner, identified as Mala Lakhani, and her servant Bahadur were found lying in a pool of blood. Several stab marks were present on the bodies. During a preliminary inquiry, it was revealed that Lakhani ran a business by the name of Tulsi Creations at Green Park," said DCP (south-west) Devender Arya.
According to the police, Lakhani had set up a tailoring workshop in her house, where the main accused Rahul had been working. Rahul, along with his two associates Rahmat and Wasim, devised a plan to murder Lakhani. After committing the crime, they stole valuable items from the house and left the spot in Lakhani's car.
