Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor is facing a lot of heat in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Varanasi constituency
New Delhi: Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor has been accused of inciting violence by creating a Gujarati vs non-Gujarati divide after a 14-month-old child was raped by a migrant worker from Bihar.
Thakor is facing a lot of heat in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Varanasi constituency. In protest, people have made a poster of Thakor posing as Raavan. The poster has Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani and it reads, “ Gujaraati o se ber nahi , Alpesh Thakor teri khair nahi ” (No enemity towards the people of Gujarat, Alpesh Thakor beware).
Shreepati, the man who put up the poster, said that Congress leader Alpesh Thakor and his supporters have attacked the people of Bihar and North India, and to do this at the time of Navaratri, is a conspiracy to defame the government.
The posters have been planted in many areas including Varanasi's Tehsil, Kachheri, Ardali Bazar, Shivpura, etc., in protest against Thakor.
On Tuesday, UP-Bihar Ekta Manch put up posters in some parts of the city with a warning note saying ‘Narendra Modi Banaras Chhoro’ (Narendra Modi, quit Varanasi).
