Uttarakhand Muslim boy thrashed for checking into hotel with minor Hindu girl

In an incident that unfolded in a town of Uttarakhand, a Muslim boy deliberately attempted to waylay a girl, knowing fully well that she was a minor 

A friendship between a boy and girl belonging to two different communities caused a mob attack in the Ghansali main market of Tehri district in Uttarakhand. The boy was Muslim and the girl Hindu and finding them in a hotel room together, the irate mob attacked the boy and beat him up. The boy was accused of attempting 'love jihad'. 

The crowd also attacked shops belonging to the Muslims in the locality. The district police arrived two hours late, and largely remained a silent spectator as the incidents unfolded. 

The mob threw stones at a female police officer while she was taking pictures of the incident on her mobile phone. 

An FIR has been registered against the Muslim boy, who is a worker at a local barbershop. Police have started investigating the case, while the situation in the area continues to be tense.
