Union minister Ananth Kumar dies: PM Modi, President Kovind lead nation in mourning

Bengaluru: Union minister Ananth Kumar passed away at the age of 59 in Bengaluru at 2 AM on Monday. He was reportedly suffering from cancer. Kumar's wife Tejaswini had earlier said that he was on artificial ventilation. Kumar had been in ICU and on a ventilator for the past few days. 

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other leaders condoled Kumar's demise. PM Modi said Kumar will always be remembered for his good work. The prime minister said he spoke to Kumar's wife and expressed condolences.
