Two arrested for assault and murder of four-year-old girl in Palakkad

Palakkad: Two members from a begging gang were arrested for the rape and murder of a four-year-old girl in Palakkad. The girl died during the sexual assault when one of the rapists suffocated her in an attempt to stop her from crying out. 

The accused have been identified as Suresh, 37, from Thiruvalla and Femina Pichaikani, 21, from Thanjavur. As per sources, the minor was abducted from Tamil Nadu. Her body was found in a bag on January 15. 

The accused have been charged under sections of the POCSO Act and Sections of the IPC for abduction, rape and murder.

There has been no missing case of the minor reported yet in nearby police stations.
