Tax on Ganesh Chaturthi celebration hurt Hindu sentiments, BJP threatens to hit the streets

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has received a lot of backlash from citizens for not taking a stern move to clear pothole-ridden roads in the city. However, the municipality is busy planning to make money by imposing taxes during Ganesha Chaturthi celebrations. The ruling JDS-Congress in BBMP is gearing up to charge people on per square foot basis for setting up pandals to celebrate Ganesha Chathurthi this season.
