India salutes four-legged soldiers ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas: Special show planned

The first Indian Army dog show to take place publicly is set to pay special tribute to the heroes of Indian army who cannot talk for themselves, making our pride stronger and our knees go weaker

Paying tribute to the Indian army, a special two-day event in the Capital will be dedicated to salute the heroic feats of the force’s dog squad. The two-day event will include an Indian Army Dog Show which is slated to take place from 5 to 6 pm on Saturday, 21st July, and Kargil Vijay Diwas: No Man Left Behind, will take place from 6 pm onwards on Sunday, 22nd July, 2018at New Delhi’s Select Citywalk mall.   
 
This is for the first time that dog squad with 12 heroic military dogs will perform in a civilian area. These four-legged unsung heroes have displayed exemplary heroism by playing a key role in rescuing several survivors including Hanumanthappa during the Siachen avalanche.  
Honouring the families of 13 martyrs, Ms Madhulika Rawat, wife of Army Chief Bipin Rawat and President of Army Women Welfare Association, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest on Kargil Vijay Diwas. Also present will be Major General GD Bakshi, a proud recipient of Sena Medal for distinguished service.
 
The event will commence with the felicitation of the families of the martyrs, followed by a Patriotic Dance by the Cyclone Group. Late in the evening, there will be a Hand Shadow Performance by Prahlad Acharya, the Udupi-based magician-turned shadow player followed by the army band performance. The event, which is open to the public, will conclude with Painting Miracle - A tribute by Vilas Nayak and Laser Show.
