In a daring operation on Tuesday, a top commando of the special forces eliminated two terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohamed terrorist group during an encounter in Shopian’s Kundalan in Kashmir valley.
“Naib Sub Rajpal Dhayal of 10 para special forces is the hero of the operation Shopian at Kundalan. He not only courageously led his team today in an operation against terrorists in Kashmir but also eliminated two hardcore JeM terrorists,” Army sources told My Nation.
The agile junior commissioned officer sustained bullet injuries on his right hand and abdomen. A bullet also hit his bullet-proof helmet directly.
“He is stable and out of danger now,” the sources said.
Sources said the action started when the 10 para special forces team was called to eliminate the two terrorists who had taken hostages inside the house where they were hiding and seeking an escape route.
When the team led by Dhayal reached the spot, he himself led the operation and during the room-intervention, came face-to-face with terrorists where they were hiding.
Both of them fired at him but he was faster and killed both of them in the gunfight, the sources said.
Sources in the special forces said Dhayal has been a veteran in anti-terrorist operations in Kashmir and has been a team man always.
