In a historic verdict,  Supreme Court judges declared on Thursday, September 6, that homosexuality is not an offence in India anymore, striking down Section 377. The law that was brought into effect in 1861 by the British was deemed  'irrational, indefensible and manifestly arbitrary' by the judges. Celebrations erupted across India, including Bengaluru's Townhall and Alternative Law forum and Lalit Ashok in New Delhi. People claim that the verdict is a victory for those who are fighting for the right to love and equality.
